What data leaves the Mac?

None. dux has no telemetry on files or folders. Reports go only where your own tooling sends them.

Can dux delete files permanently?

Files go to the Trash, become APFS clones, or keep their cloud copy. The few tool commands that delete directly, such as Xcode's simulator cleanup, say so in the review before they run. Report only mode turns cleanups off entirely.

How are logs handled?

Through Apple unified logging. Paths are private by default; collect them with log collect or sysdiagnose.
